Listening Extra – Folk Music with Catrin Finch & Aoife Ni Bhriain

Another excellent suggestion!

Catrin Finch (harpist) and Aoife Ni Bhriain (violinist) have worked together to produce an album of pieces all starting with the letter W:

And perhaps more interestingly, here you can see Aoife playing a Hardanger fiddle – it’s a Norwegian violin which has sympathetic strings behind the four main strings, has a different tuning of the strings (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardanger_fiddle#Tunings) plus a more decorative look:
