Composed in 1997 to celebrate the 75th birthday of Cardinal Basil Hume, Archbishop of Westminster, and performed on Ascension Day 1998.
Added to the mass is a movement for unaccompanied choir and treble/soprano solo setting Psalm 62 in Latin and English, selected specifically by Cardinal Hume.
Scored for Soprano Solo, SSAATTBB Choir, two Harps, Tubular Bells and Strings or Organ.
