Eliza’s Aria is a famous, uplifting vocalise-style classical piece composed by Australian-Russian composer Elena Kats-Chernin in 2002. Originally written for the 2003 ballet Wild Swans, it represents the innocence and faith of the main character, Princess Eliza. The piece is known for its light texture, simple harmonies, and use in a Lloyds Bank television campaign.
Composed for Meryl Tankard’s Wild Swans ballet, based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale.
A 3–5 minute piece, often described as airy, joyful, and dance-like. It features a soprano singing without words (vocalise) over an orchestra.
