Romantic Thursday: Dvořák – Legends Op.59 (1881)

Dvořák’s Legends, Op. 59 (1881) is a set of ten short, intimate musical pieces composed for piano four-hands and later orchestrated by the composer for a small orchestra. Known for their pastoral, lyrical, and gentle character—often seen as a reflective counterpart to his vibrant Slavonic Dances—they were dedicated to critic Eduard Hanslick.
