Barsanti – Concerto grosso in C major Op.3 No.6 (c.1770)

Francesco Barsanti (c. 1690-1775) was an Italian-born composer and oboist who became a significant figure in the 18th-century British musical scene. Originally from Lucca, Barsanti moved to London in 1714, where he became associated with the city’s vibrant music community.

He was known for his mastery of wind instruments, particularly the oboe and flute. Barsanti composed a variety of works, including Concerti grossi, sonatas, and arrangements of Scottish folk tunes, which reflected his interest in blending Italian Baroque traditions with the musical styles of his adopted home.
