Isaac Albéniz (1860-1909) was a Spanish composer and pianist, renowned for his contributions to the Romantic and nationalist music movements.
A virtuoso pianist from a young age, Albéniz’s compositions often reflect the rich cultural landscapes of Spain. “Asturias (Leyenda),” one of his most famous works, originally written for piano as part of his Suite Española, Op. 47, captures the spirit of Andalusian flamenco guitar music through its rhythmic drive and syncopated pedal note.
